I’m liking this girl more and more each day, and the following video only adds to this liking.
Here she is, at the Black Cab Sessions, Holly Miranda, doing a cover of an all-time favourite song of mine, Lauryn Hill‘s Ex-Factor. I’m completely surprised how good it sounds.

So I was listening to this album [Diciembre, 3 a.m. by Migala]… liking what I’m hearing, and suddenly something familiar hits me. An excellent Mazzy Star cover. I’m always happy when this happens, mostly because covers suck big time.

Pure Air

Anneke van Giersbergen of Agua de Annique, former lead singer of The Gathering just released a new album called Pure Air. And it’s semi acoustic and full of surprises. One of the best is a really nice cover of Alanis Morissette‘s Ironic.

I’m a big fan of covers if they’re done good

This must be the place

One of my most watched videos in the past two weeks is a cover MGMT did of the song This Must Be the Place (Talking Heads).
It’s recorded in plain daylight, at some Uni, back in 2003 when they had an audience formed by 20 or so people. It’s amazing how far they got in 5 years!
They seem to have lots of fun singing )

Invisible to everybody

I’m pretty much away this days. Not in the actual sense, but I’m not hooked up to the internet so this explains my lack of activity.
This internet break it’s actually good. I do more or less important things, I read and watch Dawson’s Creek, reminding myself how I was during my high school years.
It’s been raining on and off for several days now, so my activities are just perfect
I’m gonna leave you now with a beautiful cover, Antony Hegarty covering Leonard Cohen‘s If It Be Your Will. Yeah, I’m under the weather.
